This important meeting is going to be held on Monday, 2nd November, 2009, at the Excelsior Hotel. Registration begins at 18.30hrs while the Meeting starts at 19.15hrs. The focus of this meeting will be the problem faced by all involved with the distribution of royalty earnings from the Performing Rights Society (PRS) for Music, London. "We hopes to see you all there. Your presence will help to support a genuine issue, that of safeguarding the interests and rights of the local music industry. Thank you.", said UKAM in a message to all UKAM members on facebook. ![]() Ira Losco, who joined UKAM recently urged all musicians to join by posting a message on her facebook saying, "This is our passion, way of life, and our livelihood after all. This island must start to recognise this AND we must take a stand. "To All musicians who are just starting to dabble with Malta's airwaves, and music industry PLEASE come to this meeting. Do not remain oblivious to certain things you might not understand. We make music because love it, we love making it but we have to be able to make it! "P.R.S is one of the main issues which is going to be tackled but many many more issues will be discussed. Please join the group and spread the word!" On the PRS issue, Losco's producer, Howard Keith, posted the following message stating, "the rightful owners are given pocket money - def NOT the right way of doing things. Sure we've changed quite a bit but we haven't even started yet!" Following a recent election, UKAM's Executive Board is made up of thirteen (13) members - Mr Horace J.
