The local Eurovision club, OGAE MALTA, has selected Romina Mamo's "Primitive" for the annual OGAE Song Contest 2009. This song contest is a way how the various Eurovision fans from all over Europe, and beyond, share the best music produced outside the Eurovision sphere. It is also an effective way how to promote artists and help them gain more popularity beyond the country's borders. Romina Mamo won the Public's Choice Award at the International Malta Hit Song Contest 2009 with the song “Primitive” written by Clinton Paul and Rita Pace. She represented Malta in the Altin Nar Song Festival held in Turkey in July and now at the OGAE Song Contest 2009. Currently, Romina Mamo is in Turkey to take part in a popular television show aired on Turkish television. The invitation was sent to Romina Mamo by the TV producers following her successful participation at the Altin Nar Song Contest 2009 with "All I Am" and "Mahmure". Robert Cefai and Norman Hamilton from the World Association of Festivals and Artists (WAFA) made participation possible, following Romina Mamo's second place at the Malta Hit Song Contest 2009. Malta's best result at the OGAE Song Contest was achieved in 2006 with Chiara's "Here I Am" which ranked 8th out of 28 entries. Further information |
