» JUNIOR EUROVISION: Swine flu to affect Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2009?
It has been reported that the 2009 Junior Eurovision Song Contest is under threat by outbreaks of swine flu in Ukraine. The virus has already resulted in eleven deaths in the country.

Ukrainian authorities are believed to be taking drastic measures in the run-up to the Contest later this month, in an attempt to combat the spread of the virus. Several events that had been scheduled for the upcoming three weeks have been cancelled. In addition, other events such as the Champions League football match between Inter Milan and Dynamo Kyiv on 4th November and the World Cup qualifying match between Ukraine and Greece on 18th November may have to be postponed to later dates.

In a fortnight representatives from 13 countries, including the participants of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest are scheduled to arrive in Ukrainian capital Kyiv to perform on the 21st November.
