Morena is representing Malta at the
Eurovision Song Contest with Vodka.
She triumphed at the Malta Song for Europe
facing a tough competition from Mary Spiteri,
Claudia Faniello, Moira & Chris, Klinsmann,
Eleanor Cassar, Pamela & Glen amongst
others.
Vodka is composed by Philip Vella
and lyrics written by Gerard James Borg.
Moira Delia will read the votes of the
Maltese jury. |

Morena will be accompanied by AnnaBelle
Debono (backing vocalist) and four male
Swedish singers and dancers: choreographer
Thomas Benstem, Dan Gill, Markus Englund and
Nicklas Berglund. |

VERTIGO - OLIVIA LEWIS
Olivia finally triumphed at the Maltese
selections with her entry Vertigo.
She competed at the Eurovision Song
Contest's semi-finals of 10th May 2007,
where she ranked 25th out of 28 entries with
15 points. Unfortunately, Vertigo
didn't make it to the finals of 12th May
2007.
Vertigo was composed by Philip Vella
and lyrics written by Gerard James Borg.

I DO - FABRIZIO FANIELLO
Fabrizio Faniello's second attempt was less
successful than his previous attempt. In
2006 he finished last with 1 single point
awarded to him by Albania. This is the
lowest amount of points ever achieved by a
Maltese Eurovision entry so far!
I Do was composed and lyrics written
by himself together with Aldo Spiteri.

ANGEL - CHIARA
The second attempt for
Chiara at the
Eurovision Song Contest marked the best
result ever for a Maltese Eurovision
contestant. She gained 192 points and ranked
2nd right after Greek entry Helena
Paparizou's "My Number One". Angel
represented Malta in the 2005 Eurovision
Song Contest held on the 21 May 2005 in
Kiev, Ukraine. This is the highest amount of
votes achieved by a Maltese Eurovision entry
so far!
Angel was composed and penned by
Chiara herself.

TODAY:
Chiara has
hinted on various occasions that she might
return to the Maltasong stage giving a third
and final attempt at bringing home the much
awaited Eurovision trophy. 2008 might mark
her return. |

ON AGAIN...OFF AGAIN - JULIE & LUDWIG
On Again...Off Again made it to the
finals of the Eurovision Song Contest after
reaching 8th place at the qualifier round.
In the Eurovision Song Contest finals held
in Istanbul, Turkey they won 50 points and
placed 12th.
This song was composed by Philip Vella and
written by Gerard James Borg

TODAY:
Julie & Ludwig have released their first cd-album,
Mood Swings. After their Eurovision
experience, they represented Malta in other
song festivals held in Romania and Turkey.
In Megahit 2005 they reached 2nd place.
Julie & Ludwig take part in musicals and are
still very much in demand and popular with
the Maltese public. Together with Natasha &
Charlene and Fabrizio Faniello they are
present on a weekly basis on the Saturday
afternoon TV show Kollox Sibt on NET TV. It
was rumoured that both singers submitted an
entry as soloists for the Maltese National
Finals 2007. |

TO DREAM AGAIN - LYNN CHIRCOP
In the Eurovision Song Contest held in Riga,
Latvia, Malta managed to gain only 4 points
and placed 23rd. To Dream Again was
composed by Alfred Zammit and penned by
Cynthia Sammut.
Lynn was accompanied on stage by Marvic
Lewis, Anna Azzopardi, Justyne Bezzina,
Leontine Spiteri and Louisanne Tate.
The 5 backing vocalists were chosen through
the Pop-In TV show.

TODAY:
Lynn Chricop is now married to Antoine Faure'
and is known as Lynn Faure'. She has a child
called Lizzie. Lynn has moved on with her
career and is hosting her own TV shows on
Channel 22. She still sings and plays the
piano in Hotels teamed up with her husband
and their band. |

LOSCO
One of Malta's best results! Ira achieved a
2nd place with 164 points in the Eurovision
Song Contest held in Tallin, Estonia.
7th
Wonder was
composed by Philip Vella whilst the lyrics
were written by Gerard James Borg.
On stage Ira was accompanied by the
following backing vocalists: Airi Allvee,
Jelena Juzvik, Liisi Koikson, Kaire Vilgats
and Dagmar Oja.

TODAY:
Ira Losco is establishing herself as one of
the top female vocalists in Malta. She
changed her music style completley and is
singing her own brit-pop-rock stuff. She has
made it to the charts in the German
territory, where she was also touring with
her first album "Someone else". Ira Losco
was the only supporting act in Elton John's
concert in Germany in Summer 2005. A few
days before she was also the supporting act
for Ronan Keating. So far she has refused to
return to the Eurovision Stage, but lately,
on Xarabank has admitted that if she had to
return to Eurovision she would do so with a
song written by herself. |

ANOTHER SUMMER NIGHT - FABRIZIO FANIELLO
Fabrizio Faniello represented Malta in the
2001 Eurovision Song Contest held in
Copenhagen, Denmark, where he placed 9th
with 48 points. Fabrizio Faniello was also
later chosen to partecipate in the 50th year
of Eurovision Celebrations.
The song was composed by Paul Abela and
written by Georgina Abela.

TODAY:
Fabrizio Faniello returned to the Eurovision
Song Contest 2006 with I Do in
Athens, Greece this May 2006. Together with
Natasha & Charlene and Julie & Ludwig he is

Desire performed by Claudette Pace
represented Malta in the year 2000
Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm,
Sweden. Malta placed 8th with 73 points.
Desire was composed by Philip Vella
and penned by Gerard James Borg.
Among others, Claudette Pace was accompanied
on stage by the following backing vocalists:
Anna Cecilia Sahlin, Andrea 'Dea' Norberg,
Gabriel Forss and Fredrik Ivarson.

TODAY:
Claudette Pace is still one of the top local
personalities in Malta. Nowadays she's
married to a tv producer and has a baby
girl, Kristina. In 2003 she joined Malta
Song board but left after a very short
period. She has returned to the small screen
hosting various TV shows including Sellili,
Lejn il-Eurovision and the much awaited
second series of L-Isfida. She is also
taking part in the local soap opera, Santa
Monika, as an actress. Claudette Pace
submitted an entry for the Malta Song for
Europe 2006 performed by Glen. However this
song failed to make it to the final round.
Claudette Pace is still very popular in
international clubs and gay events thanks to
her gay-anthem "Power of Pink".
She returned to Malta Song for Europe in
2008 as the lyricist of Klinsmann's "Go". |

'N PEACE - TIMES THREE
Believe 'n Peace represented Malta in
Jerusalem, Israel, and placed 15th with 32
points.
The song was composed by Chris Scicluna and
penned by Moira Stafrace.
Francesca Tabone, Diane Stafrace and
Philippa Farrugia Randon (Times Three) were
accompanied by Chris Scicluna and Moira
Stafrace on stage as backing vocalists.

TODAY:
On their return to Malta from Jerusalem,
Times Three were already thinking of taking
solo careers. Leading singer Philipa is
sometimes seen performing in unplugged
sessions. Her cousin, Francesca pursued a
career in musical-theatre, while Diane
returned to her modeling career. |

CHIARA
Chiara's first
presence at the Eurovision Song Contest was
in Birmingham, UK, where she placed 3rd with
166 points. Chiara
went on to achieve a higher amount of points
and a higher rank in her second attempt at
the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005.
The One That I Love was composed by

Chiara
has recently become a mum
of a baby girl.
She returned to the Eurovision Song Contest 2005
with her own song, Angel. Since 1998

has also hosted her own TV music-game show.
It is rumoured that
Chiara will return to the Maltese
National Finals in 2009. |

In the 1997 Eurovision Song Contest held in
Dublin, Ireland, Malta gained 66 points and
placed 9th.
Let Me Fly was composed and written
by Ray Agius.
Philip Vella, Renzo Spiteri and an italian
harpist accompanied Debbie Scerri on stage
as additional musicians.

Debbie Scerri is married and has a child,
Nicole. She is still very active in the
Music Festivals scene. Her last try at
Maltasong was in 2004. She is a popular tv
presenter and hosts various shows. She has
also taken part as an actress in some local
teleserials. It was rumoured that Debbie
Scerri submitted an entry for the Maltese
and the Cypriot National Finals in 2006. |

TODAY:
Miriam Christine is married to Mark
Warner, the producer working behind her new R'n'B image.
They have a son called Rio. She has shot various new video
clips and is trying her best to break into
the international R'n'B music scene. She is
also a tv producer for local Education
Channel 22. Miriam Christine returned to the
Malta Song for Europe 2006 as the songwriter of
Manuel Xuereb's entry I promise you. |

Mike Spiteri is still busy working in the
music scene. He is now a member of Malta
Song board and part of the Maltese

Chiara's
pre-Eurovision 2005 promotional tour and
Fabrizio Faniello's pre-Eurovision 2006
tour. He also accompanied Olivia Lewis at
Eurovision 2007, as a member of the Maltese
Delegation. |

also very active in piano bars and lives
entirely on music. He has submitted an entry
which reached the semi-finals round of the
Malta Song for Europe 2006 edition. William
Mangion will return to the Malta Song for
Europe 2007 with a ballad. |

TODAY:
Mary Spiteri is one of the best friends of
singer Renato. Mary still records new songs
and cover versions both as a soloist as well
as a duet together with Renato. Mary Spiteri
sings in leading Hotels on the island and
takes part in concerts. She has also taken
part as an actress in local teleserials.
Between October and December 2006, Mary
Spiteri co-hosted the entertainment Tv show
"Serata Ma'..." with Rennie Vella on ONE
TV. Mary Spiteri submitted more than
one
entry for the Malta Song for Europe 2007,
however they failed to reach the semi-final
round. |

Paul Giordimaina still takes part in Malta
Song for Europe, but has taken a step back
and, together with his partner Fleur Balzan, is now writing songs for other upcoming
singers including Pamela and Eleonor Cassar.
He also host his own radio show, Jazzline on
Super ONE Radio.
On the other hand, Georgina still tries her
luck in Malta Song for Europe as a soloist
and also writes songs for other singers
including Triston B. She has also taken part
as an actress in some local teleserials. |

mind a comeback to the Eurovision Song
