"...anonymous during life
and famous when I'm dead"
-  Julie Zahra

1. What were your dreams as a child? Did you ever wish to become a singer or you thought of another career?

I used to wander and dream about many things during my childhood. I still dream about achieving particular things to this very day. I never dreamt about becoming a popular singer. When I was in primary school I wanted to become a vet or an astronaut. I love animals and I’m extremely fascinated by the universe. The truth is that I never liked science subjects, so I decided to scrap both ideas and look in other directions. I started to take singing seriously at a later stage in my life .

2. Are you more like your mother or your father?

I definitely have something from both of my parents. I have a good sense of humour which I got from my father and then I have the looks and charm of my mother and strong character. My father says that the more I grow up, the more I resemble my mother.

3. Rich and famous .... or .... poor and anonymous?

Let’s say rich and famous, yet I‘d rather be anonymous during life and famous for decades when I’m dead.

4. What is your idea of heaven?

Serenity, peace and fulfillment.

5. What has been your greatest challenge so far?

There have been many challenges in my life. One of them was to grow up in a single parent family where I had to take many responsibilities. Another would be that of moving from Malta to continue my studies and dreams as a musician and a professional singer.

6. What was your funniest experience with a fan?

I don’t really recall any funny experience with my fans. I had great experiences and it’s such a wonderful experience whenever you meet people who admire myself and my singing.

7. Are you a shopaholic? If so, which shops do you visit mostly?

Not really… but I'd love to go to shoe stores and make up stores!

8. What makes you angry?

Hypocrisy and passiveness in all social institutions. I just hate wars and people who try to avoid reality and happy to live a lie.

9. A 'YES' you're sorry you have said.....and a 'NO' you're proud you have said?

I tend to say yes to help others yet I do regret having said it since some people don’t appreciate at the end! I’m proud to have said no to smoking. I used to but I had the courage and will to quit smoking.

10. Which career do you see yourself doing apart from the one you're already doing?

I wouldn’t think of anything yet. I love my career; as I managed to combine both my teaching skills and music knowledge together.

11. Which is your favourite word....and least favourite?

My favourite word would be the word food and diet for least favourite.

12. Can you please send a message to all readers of OGAEMALTA.com?

I thank all OgaeMalta readers for their support and appreciation and I look forward to share my new music with you all.

Take care x
