THE CELEBRITY RED CARPET

ESTELLE FENECH IMBROLL -  Estelle is relatively new to the local music scene.  She is a student of sciences at the Univeristy of Malta.  Estelle tried her luck at the Malta Hit Song Contest 2008 with Untainted, a piece written by Mark Scicluna and she made it through.  Although she did not qualify to the final round, Estelle managed to attract the attention of the Fashion Critics who surprised her with a Make Over prize...the result was stunning!

Estelle is the sixteenth artist to walk on our CELEBRITY RED CARPET. Enjoy!

"Never stop fighting
for what you truly believe in"
-  Estelle Fenech imbroll

1. What were your dreams as a child? Did you ever wish to become a singer or you thought of another career?

Ever since I was a child I loved singing and my greatest wish was to sing in front of people. But apart from this when I was young I first wanted to become a teacher like my dad, then a nurse like my mum, then a doctor... it went on and on... I guess all child's dream are endless... and I was no exception.

2. Are you more like your mother or your father?

I have a bit of both I guess. Appearance wise I believe that I'm more like my mother. While my character is a cocktail of both. I have my mum's passion but my dad's scientific approach to things.

3. Rich and famous .... or .... poor and anonymous?

Being rich and famous doesn't guarantee one happiness, while there's no greater accomplishment then managing to be happy while you have nothing.

4. What is your idea of heaven?

A place full of love, and chocolate :)

5. What has been your greatest challenge so far?

I guess my greatest challenge was managing to believe in myself, when everything seemed bleak and lost. And it's a battle that I sometimes loose just the same, but the war is on its way to be conquered.

6. What was your funniest experience with a fan?

Since I've only lately begun singing, fans are still being brewed. But a funny experience that happened lately, was when I went to mass and saw my grandma's sister. On seeing me, she was thrilled... gave me a very wet kiss, and squashed me so hard that I thought I wouldn't ever be able to breathe again. She then said in a loud voice 'Prosit ruhi kemm dehert sabiha fuq it-television!! Rajtek ta!!' and everybody up to some 10 pews away began looking. I desperately wished for a hole that was big enough to appear so that I could fit into it and disappear.

7. Are you a shopaholic? If so, which shops do you visit mostly?

Alas!! Well, I love shopping... Maybe it's part and parcel of being a girl. Apart from clothes shops (especially my recent sponsor Gianni), I make it a point to go in a bookshop every time I go shopping. I just love the smell and touch of books! And oh, one must not forget ebay!!! It can get pretty addictive!!

8. What makes you angry?

I rarely am angry, but something that will guarantee that I'll bite your head off (to say the least), is if you wake me up at least 5 minutes before I set my alarm. That is something that I don't recommend anybody to do, unless he (or she) is ready that I don't speak to you for the rest of the day... And maybe more (depends on how bad the situation was)

9. A 'YES' you're sorry you have said.....and a 'NO' you're proud you have said?

There is nothing that I'm sorry for saying or doing, even if later it turned out to be the wrong thing to say or do. I learnt the most from my own mistakes and these were lessons that couldn't be thought but only experienced. On the other hand I'm proud to having said 'no' to some guys who only had one thing in their mind.

10. Which career do you see yourself doing apart from the one you're already doing?

I'm studying to become a biology teacher, so I guess the answer has to be 'a teacher'. Though, I also love cooking with a passion, and I'd love to become a chef.

11. Which is your favourite word....and least favourite?

My favourite word is 'puffetta, puffina, puffettu', basically, everything that is a 'puff' derivative.  It is used to address my friends, telling them 'ey puffetta!'.

My least favourite word at the moment has to be without any doubt 'assignment', since this will mean that a lot of nerve wrecking, stressful and sleepless days are on their way.

12. Can you please send a message to all readers of OGAEMALTA.com?

To never stop listening to the music in their soul and their heart, since that is from where songs are written. Also, to never stop fighting for what they truly believe in, be it love, God, their family and friends, and above all, their dreams....
